First built in 1908, the Chattanooga Choo Choo was a fashionable hotel before being converted to a train depot. Although the Chattanooga Terminal Station was significant in its role of the train era with its “Track 29,” little was known about the first Chattanooga Choo Choo. Only after Glenn Miller Orchestra made the catchy song popular in the late 1940s did the name become world famous. The song, "Chattanooga Choo Choo," traveled fast throughout the circles of Europe during World War II, and today it is an international favorite.

Chattanooga Choo ChooA group of investors, inspired by the famous train and its beloved song, saved the old terminal to renovate it into the special hotel complex it is today. The historic Chattanooga Choo Choo Hotel offers shops, gardens, and the amenities you’d expect from a upscale, urban hotel.
