The Chattanooga Traditional Jazz Festival was founded in 1990 by Mike and Astrid Griffin out of their love of traditional jazz and the desire to share and spread this truly original American art form — the music of New Orleans and Dixieland. The 22nd annual festival features these great traditional jazz bands: BOB SCHULZ' FRISCO JAZZ BAND Held at the charming, historic CHATTANOOGA CHOO CHOO HOTEL. The music starts Friday evening at 6:35 p.m. and swings the entire weekend ’til 9:30 p.m. Sunday night. All bands will appear at all sessions. Special features of this year’s jazz festival include the HOT JAZZ IN STONE AND STEEL program in collaboration with the acclaimed HUNTER MUSEUM OF AMERICAN ART on Thursday, May 3 and will conclude with the Tennessee Jazz Barbecue on Sunday evening. Come join the Chattanooga Traditional Jazz Festival's dedicated "Jazz Nuts" in all the fun and see why they say, "What a wonderful weekend — What a wonderful world!"
